Skedda and AllBooked: two products

On its own site Skedda describes itself as space booking for workplaces: self-serve booking of desks, rooms and resources for a team, with interactive floor plans, two-way Google and Outlook sync and apps for Microsoft Teams and Slack. Its plans are priced per space.

For venues that charge for their bookings, Skedda offers AllBooked by Skedda, "powered by Skedda", aimed at sports facilities, community spaces and music studios. AllBooked is where payments, memberships and invoicing live, so for a studio it is the closer comparison. Where a fact applies to only one of the two, the table says which.

Booking rules

AllBooked's pages list buffer time between bookings, booking conditions, quotas, access and visibility rules, cancellation policies, repeat bookings and check-in prompts. Skedda's pricing page also lists booking windows and booking requests with approvals.

In Ruumio each room has its own opening periods, booking step, minimum and maximum length, how far ahead people can book, a cancellation deadline and a buffer before and after every booking. Closures apply to one room or all of them. Recurring series skip dates already taken, extras can need your approval on chosen weekdays, and booking questions can ask how many people are coming, capped at the room's capacity.

Payments, prices and invoices

AllBooked takes payments through Stripe Connect, upfront or later, and sends invoices for single bookings or in a batch for a period. Its pages also list off-peak and dynamic pricing, prices per user type and promo codes, and memberships that renew automatically, with allowance rules for free booking time.

Ruumio takes card payments at booking into the studio's own Stripe account, holds the time while the client pays and refunds by your cancellation policy. Peak and day rates show on the invoice line by line. Every payment gets an invoice and every refund a credit note, with VAT, and company accounts get one monthly invoice with an Estonian reference number. For regulars there are member plans with hours per room, hour packs, gift cards and discount codes.

Website and languages

AllBooked gives each venue a hosted booking page with its logo and colours, and a code to embed booking on your own website; its pricing page lists the embedded scheduler at an additional fee. Ruumio gives each studio a whole website: home page, content pages, About and Contact, design templates, a page builder on Pro and your own domain, plus a booking widget for a site you already have.

Skedda's help center lists English, Spanish, French and German for the booking interface (not on AllBooked Core) and notes that user-generated content may not be translated. Ruumio shows visitor pages in the languages you choose, and you translate your own texts per language in the admin. Estonian and English are written by people; the other European languages are machine translations marked beta.

Doors and calendars

Skedda lists a Kisi integration, and AllBooked connects bookings to smart locks through Seam, priced per device on its pricing page. Ruumio works with UniFi Access as an add-on: every booking gets its own PIN that works only during the booking plus the buffer.

Skedda syncs both ways with Google and Outlook. Ruumio gives every member, room and the studio an iCal feed and reads outside iCal calendars for each room, so time booked elsewhere is blocked.

Which one fits

Skedda fits an office, campus or coworking space booking desks, rooms and parking for its own people, with floor plans, single sign-on and Teams or Slack. AllBooked fits a venue that wants its integrations, such as Zapier, lighting and HVAC control. Ruumio fits a studio with one room or a handful that wants its own website, card payments, VAT invoices and door codes in one place.

Skedda's and AllBooked's pricing pages show plans billed annually, each with a 14-day free trial. Ruumio is a monthly plan with a 14-day trial, plus a small fee on payments made through it.
